This is a replica of Audrey II, the plant from Little Shop of Horrors. The previous Audrey II, done as a gift to someone dear to me, broke into a million pieces. So I just went and made another one for her. Which would kind of make this Audrey... IV
 This one took some time. If I was to do this again, I figured, I might as well make it much better than the other. During the process of making it, while going through a bike trail looking for reference leaves, I fell off my bike and almost broke my right hand. For a week and a half I could only stare in frustration at a few clumps of clay slightly resembling Audrey II. The first one was based off of sketches done while watching the movie. Since this one was sculpted in front of a TV showing the very first shot of the plant in the movie, the end result was much more faithful than my previous attempt. In that first scene with the plant, Audrey II is in a Maxwell House coffee can from the 50's (the period the movie is set in). Out of curiosity I went on Ebay, wondering if there might be any out there and what crazy prices they could go for. For $6 and shipping, I nailed one. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
